Since 1895 the experience of three generations of the Martin family has made 'Joseph Martin' the leader in fine bespoke menswear in Ireland.
In 1895 Joseph
Patrick Martin established his business in Ballysadare Co. Sligo, he was
succeeded by his son Joseph Henry Martin who expanded the business to the
county town of Sligo and opened fitting rooms in Dublin in 1950; from the mid
1960s he undertook regular visits to the United States of America, which became
an important export market for the business.
The current owner, Joseph Martin, pursued his training in London and Italy, returning to Sligo in the 1970s to carry on the family tradition. He also regularly visits London and other European cities to meet clients.
